Sunflowers

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."
II Corinthians 4:6

Have you ever noticed how sun flowers seem to follow the sun?  They seem to lift their faces toward whichever direction the sun is shining from.  In the morning they face east, at noon straight overhead, and in the evening west.  Wouldn't it be wonderful if we did that?  If we turned our faces towards God's Son at every hour of every day, how much better our lives would be.

This verse says we experience the "glory of God" in the "face of Jesus Christ".  In what better direction could we look, then, than the direction of Christ as revealed in scripture and in every day life.  Let's not let a flower be wiser than we are.

My prayer for today:  Father, lift my eyes and my heart to You every moment of every day.
