Lord/Maker of All

"The rich and poor meet together:  the Lord is the maker of them all."
Proverbs 22:2

The world has always had its' haves and its' have-nots.  That is the reason behind class distinction.  Sometimes the rich think they are better than the poor.  Sometimes the poor just think that the rich think they are better.  Either way, it causes division between people.  But according to this verse, God made them all... rich and poor.  So what do any of us have to brag about?  If we could really come to terms with this verse, there would be no class distinctions and no race distinctions.  God made us all.  None of us had a choice of which family or race we would be born into.  The same is true of the sexes.  None of us had a choice there either.  So if God made you female, look for ways you can serve Him in that context.  Whatever race you are, look for ways you can serve Him in that context.  Remember, "The Lord is the maker of them all."

My prayer for today:  Father, help us fight both pride and low self-esteem and be content to be the best at whatever You made us to be.
