All Things / Our Good?

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose."
Romans 8:28

In the August 3/10, 1996 issue of World Magazine there is an article about the family of one of the victims of the crash of TWA flight 800.  The young man was only twenty and was on his way to France for a month of mission work.  It would be so understandable if this family had stood on the shore and cried out in anger to God asking "Why?".  He was young.  He had already dedicated his life to God's work.  What could possibly be gained by his death?

Yet that is not what this family has done.  Instead, they have used their own grief to reach out to others suffering the same loss.  They have prayed with, witnessed to, and passed out tracts.  There is just no telling how many lives have been touched by the testimony of this precious family.  Never have I seen this verse so completely put to work in life application.  I admire them greatly.

My prayer for today:  Father, help all of us that we might truly apply this verse to every area of our lives.  Even things so hard to understand.
