"And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient."
II Timothy 2:24
Lately, we have experienced very poor reception on our television. The fault is not with the TV station, it is with our set. But we can't seem to pinpoint the problem. The same thing is often true of our witnessing. It reflects very poor reception. Usually, unless we are just over zealous, the fault is not with us, it is with the receiver. And as with our television set, we may not be able to find the problem. It may be some deeply rooted pain in the life of the one we seek to share our witness with. But rest assured, the effort of witnessing is not in vain. As this verse says, we must be "gentle" and "patient". God will take care of the rest.
My prayer for today: Father, help me to know when to "broadcast" and when to remain silent, that You might do Your work in the hearts of those we yearn to see won to salvation.
